The majority of use cases remain the installation of floor tiles on extremely slippery ground at the base. Installing clip-on tiles on tiles may require the installation of an underlay to create a grip between your floor and the tiles. This rubber underlay is available by the roll to promote ease of installation, 3 lengths available.

Acoustic rubber underlay 4mm thick

The installation of this underlay can also be used for an acoustic effect. DIAMONTRAX HOME or PRO model solid tiles emit a slight walking noise caused by their closed structures. A free flow structure significantly reduces walking noise thanks to its open structure which avoids resonance. This 4mm thick rubber underlay will not completely eliminate walking noise but will significantly reduce it.

Anti slip underlay

The primary use of this rubber roller is the non-slip and grip side. Installing clip-on tiles on a slippery floor will require the installation of this gripping rubber underlay. The floor tiles are loosely laid on your floor and not glued, so your floor must be quite rough to create a natural grip. This underlay is installed directly on your original floor and receives your clip-on tiles. Laying tiles on slippery tiles or on a quartz floor requires the installation of this rubber roller. If your floor tiles do not have sufficient grip to hold onto your original floor, your tiles risk becoming unclipped when maneuvering in your garage.

Insulating rubber underlay

The 4mm SWISSTRAX rubber underlay allows you to create insulation between your floor and your floor tiles. If you have cold rising from your floor, rubber will be an excellent insulator. How to install this 4mm thick rubber underlay

Start by cleaning your original floor with a vacuum cleaner, making sure that no stones or other objects remain on your floor. Installation must be done on a clean and dry floor. Unroll your rubber underlay over your entire project or only in the desired location. Laying is not obligatory over your entire floor surface, it can simply be localized in an area in order to create sufficient grip for the floor tiles. Never overlap your underlay at the risk of creating extra thickness, installation is carried out side by side. Use a cutter to make the cuts while protecting yourself with the necessary personal protective equipment. This product is also recommended when laying our tiles on a wooden floor so as not to leave a mark on your floor.
